Thirteen Levy County elementary school students were taken to a hospital for minor injuries Wednesday after a collision in Williston.

Williston Police Chief Dennis Strow said 52 students from both Joyce Bullock Elementary and Williston Elementary were on the bus at 7:36 a.m. when it stopped at a railroad crossing.

Strow said a 2006 Dodge truck struck the bus from behind. The driver was ticked for following too close, Strow said.

Thirteen of the 52 students were taken to Regional General Hospital.

Strow said the wreck is still under investigation.
