Bronson woman accused of trying to run over teens after July 4th display
BRONSON, Fla. —
A 40-year-old is accused of trying to run over a group of teens during the 4th of July celebration at the Bronson Sports Complex.
Levy County Sheriff's charged Kelly Geer of Bronson with aggravated assault.
Deputies say Geer and the teens were arguing after the fireworks show. Witnesses told deputies she got into her car, backed up and then accelerated toward the group in what appeared to be a deliberate attempt to run them over.
Deputies say they interviewed eight teens who said they were walking away after the argument when she threatened to run them over. The teens told detectives they had to dive into a ditch to avoid being hit.
Geer was arrested at the scene. She's out of jail on a $5,000 bond.
