One Gainesville man dead, second arrested following stabbing
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
A Gainesville man is dead and another is in jail after a stabbing late Wednesday.
Alachua County Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged 39-year-old David Jenkins with first-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Franklin Flagg.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at 11:43 p.m. at 912 SW 62nd Terrace and found Flagg with a stab wound.
Witnesses told deputies the two men were arguing when Jenkins left, went to a nearby apartment, grabbed a friend and a knife and returned to the scene. That's when deputies say Jenkins stabbed Flagg. Deputies say Flagg received immediate medical help, but later died from the injury.
Jenkins is at the Alachua County Jail on $100,000 bond.
