Evacuees brace Florida traffic on I-75 through Gainesville
Florida residents are hitting the road -- it might seem like all at once. Shelves are empty, gas lines are into the streets and now highways are bumper to bumper.
Whether you're traveling from southwest or east Florida, the regular two to four hour trip to Gainesville is turning into a cross country drive. Florida evacuations are becoming surreal as much of the state flees hurricane Irma.
Authorities are urging travelers to please be patient on the roads for everyone's safety.
