Gainesville High School gets new sign, asks drivers not to crash into it like the old sign
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Gainesville High School has a new sign and it has one simple request: Please don't crash into it.
The school's previous sign was destroyed by an SUV last May. The 58-year-old driver was ticketed for careless driving after police say the vehicle veered off the road, struck the sign and flipped over several times.
The new sign, emblazoned in purple, was installed Thursday. The text of the sign says, "Please don't crash into our new sign."
