Gainesville Police have arrested a man accused of waving a gun at other motorists Thursday.

Kentrell H. Houston, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Police say they responded to SW Williston Road after someone reported a man in a Chevy Malibu waving a gun. Officers say the victim followed the car throughout southeast Gainesville until an officer spotted it on East University Avenue.

Police say they pulled the car over after it pulled into Pointe 23 Apartments. They say they found a loaded, 9-mm Taurus handgun in Houston's waistband.

Officers say the victim identified the suspect as the person who waved the gun.
