Gainesville Police: Mother left daughter in truck alone while she smoked crack
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Gainesville Police have arrested a woman accused of leaving her minor child alone in a truck while she smoked crack.
Officers charged 30-year-old Amber Bryan of Crawfordville with felony child neglect.
An incident report released Monday says the child called police around 11:30 p.m. Saturday because her mom left her alone for more than 30 minutes and she was scared. The girl told police her mom had smoked crack from a pipe in front of her and told her to stay in the truck for five minutes until she returned, the report says.
Police say they waited with the girl until 2:15 a.m. and searched for Bryan but couldn't find her. An officer pulled over the same truck around 5 a.m. on 3400 NW 34th St. Police say Bryan told them she did smoke crack in front of her daughter and that she was going to come back and get her after getting high, but she forgot.
She's being held at the Alachua County Jail on $50,000 bond.
