Gas stations across Alachua County are starting to fuel up.

Many travelers have been stranded in Gainesville for the last day and a half because of the lack of fuel, but CBS 4's Josslyn Howard is reporting several stations are now being replenished.

Governor Rick Scott's office says the Florida Highway Patrol dedicated 20 troopers to escort tankers from Port of Jacksonville, the Port of Tampa, Port Everglades and Port Canaveral once the ports opened earlier today.

The governor also directed troopers to escort tankers to gas stations and waived the tax on fuel entering the state.

Many motorists have been using the Gas Buddy website to try and find gas.
