WANTED WEDNESDAY: Gainesville woman accused of stealing credit cards from coworkers
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is on the run after stealing from people who trusted her—and now they need your help to find her
Daphne Danielle Ford, 35, worked as a temporary employee at UF Health hospital.
When her coworkers weren’t looking, deputies say she’d go into their purses and steal their credit cards.
“She helped herself to those when they weren’t around,” says Art Forgey, from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
They say she made her way to the Walmart in Butler Plaza, where she spent over $600 of her coworkers hard earned cash.
“I think people get comfortable around their coworkers and let them and let their guard down and leave things around,” says Forgey. “But if it’s out of sight it’s out of mind.”
Now she’s on the run, though authorities believe she would do this again.
“It’s very hurtful because it hits you in the pocket and the steps you have to take with the bank to get your money back is very time consuming,” says Forgey. “We’re asking the public to locate her before she can take other people’s credit cards and do the same thing.”
Here is her description:
Name: Daphne Danielle Ford
Age: 35 years old

If you have any information on where she is, you’re urged to call Crime Stoppers and 352-372-STOP
