Center of Hurricane Irma on track to move over Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Hurricane Irma has downgraded to a Category 4, and could be a Category 1 by the time it reaches Gainesville.
Winds are expected to pickup throughout the day Sunday, with tropical force winds as high expected to arrive around 9 p.m. Sunday.
Category 1 conditions are expected to begin Monday morning through mid-day, with gusts up to 80 mph. The latest forecast has rain picking up, with as much as 7 inches of rain likely.

Conditions are expected to improve rapidly by Monday night.
