Levy, Gilchrist counties set curfews ahead of Hurricane Irma; no curfew for Alachua
BRONSON, Fla. (WGFL) —
Levy and Gilchrist counties have set curfews for residents.
Gilchrist County's curfew begins at 2 p.m. Sunday. Officials say the strong winds could down power lines and trees, blocking traffic. Authorities say the curfew will be lifted once the storm clears the immediate area. You can find Gilchrist County shelters here.
Levy County has set a curfew for all residents starting at 4 p.m. today.
County officials urge everyone to be in a safe location by then because emergency services will not be able to respond once sustained winds exceed 39 miles per hour.
Alachua County and the city of Gainesville have not set a curfew.
