Lilliemarie Gore crowned 2018 Alachua County Teacher of the Year
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Idylwild Elementary School Teacher Lilliemarie Gore has been named the 2018 Alachua County Teacher of the Year.
Gore's name was announced to thunderous applause tonight at Trinity United Methodist Church.
A tearful Gore honored God first, "because without Him I'm nothing."
She also thanked her mentor and family, who had to leave before the announcement because a family member was rushed to the hospital.
She also thanked her Idylwild family. Gore, a fourth-grade teacher, has taught at the school for five years.
The other two finalists were Mebane Middle School teacher Gloria Bonilla and Gainesville High School teacher Elena Tepperman. You can read about all three of them here.
