Starke police arrest man in church burglary sting
STARKE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Starke police say they nabbed a burglary suspect by staking out a church that had been burglarized multiple times in the past.
Officers charged Ronald L. Brown with burglary, grand theft and possession of burglary tools after they say they caught him breaking into the New Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church early Wednesday.
Police say someone had broken into the church four times in recent months and stole money. Officers were hiding in the church Wednesday when, around 3 a.m., Brown broke in by prying the rear door.
Police say they determined Brown has a notable mental disability and took him to his home to face charges.
