Two Levy County Sheriff's deputies cleared in fatal shooting of armed man in November
CHIEFLAND, Fla. (WGFL) —
A grand jury has chosen not to indict two Levy County Sheriff's deputies who shot an armed man to death at his home last November.
Sgt. Klinik and Deputy Garboskishot and killed Michael Goodale outside of his Chiefland home on Nov. 16.
The grand jury found Cannon and Garboski were within the scope of their training and experience and acted in self-defense, according to the state attorney's office.
Authorities say Goodale ignored their commands to drop the knifes and tried to inside his house when Deputy R. Cannon deployed his Taser, which had no effect.
Authorities say Goodale charged at Garboski and Klinik and they both fired.
