Two men, including one who was shot by an 89-year-old homeowner, have been arrested in connection to an early Monday morning home invasion in Gilchrist County.

Gilchrist County Sheriff's deputies say 52-year-old Spencer Gene Davis of Chiefland was critically wounded by the homeowner after he forced his way into the home and demanded money. Deputies say they found him in the home and took him to the hospital, where he is still in critical condition. They say he will be charged with armed home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion robbery, grand theft and theft of a firearm.

Deputies say they learned of a second suspect during the investigation. They charged 49-year-old Leonard Conrad Gulbronson, Jr. of Chiefland with conspiracy to commit home invasion robbery and unarmed home invasion robbery. He's being held in the Levy County Jail on $2 million bond.

Deputies say the men appear to be linked to multiple other property crimes in North Florida.
