Two men charged in string of armed robberies in Alachua, Marion counties
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Marion County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a pair of men accused of robbing a series of businesses in North Central Florida.
Marion County deputies charged 33-year-old Henry T. Shuler and 21-year-old Zachary Thomas with robbery in connection with an armed robbery at the Green Elephant Internet Cafe on Monday. Deputies say the men were arrested Tuesday when a Belleview Police officer found them while responding to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a pawn shop. Deputies say both men admitted to being involved in Green Elephant robbery.
Alachua County sheriff's deputies say they're also charging Shuler and Thomas with armed robberies at a Waffle House and Xmart last month. Deputies say they expect more agencies to file charges against the men.
