Two drivers injured in head-on crash near Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
Two people were seriously hurt in a head-on crash near Gainesville.
The Florida Highway Patrol says it happened at 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 26 and NE 179th Street.
Troopers say a 1992 GMC Astro was eastbound on 26 when it traveled into the westbound lane, striking a 1992 Grand Marquis traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the GMC, a 40-year-old man from Gainesville, was taken to UF Health in critical condition. The driver of the Mercury, a 37-year-old woman from Keystone Heights, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Troopers say charges are pending.
