Deputies: Man who shot woman, daughter in Ocala National Forest has died
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
A man who shot a woman and their one-year-old daughter Saturday at Ocala National Forest has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Marion County Sheriff's deputies say.
Deputies responded to Forest Road 88 at 10:52 a.m. after a passerby discovered the scene about two miles north of East State Road 40.
Deputies say 26-year-old Kevin Benjamin Olesen Farias shot and killed 32-year-old Jessica Johnson and their 1-year-old daughter, Gabriela Farias, before turning the gun on himself.
Farias was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but later died.
Deputies say Farias was from Minnesota and that Johnson and the child were from Wisconsin.
