Woman dies in I-75 crash in Alachua County
ALACHUA, Fla. (WGFL) —
A 37-year-old woman died Saturday after a two-car crash on I-75 in Alachua County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 12:35 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the 404 Mile Marker. Troopers say a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2017 Lexus were both heading south when they tried to avoid another vehicle that was also southbound. The Pathfinder overturned and the Lexus hit a guardrail.
Troopers say the driver of the Pathfinder, Antonia De Sousa of Acworth, Ga., died at the scene. Two passengers in the Pathfinder had minor injuries. No one inside the Lexus was hurt.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
