Wanted Wednesday: Woman accused of beating people at McDonald's
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
For this week’s Wanted Wednesday, we bring you a woman accused of beating people at two different McDonald's restaurants.
“Shameka Tolbert is a 26-year-old female and she is currently wanted for two active cases out of the city limits of Gainesville,” said Sgt. Brett Rhodenizer of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
Tolbert is charged with child abuse on a McDonald’s employee and battery on her own girlfriend.
The first of these two cases happened last July.
Police say Tolbert fought with her girlfriend at the McDonald’s on Newberry Road where they both worked.
They say an argument turned violent.
“Shameka was actually advancing towards her and shoved the victim with a bread cart before they got into a fist fight there in the place of business before folks in the area there were able to separate them,” Rhodenizer said.
Police say Tolbert spit on her ex-girlfriend and then bolted when someone called police.
Tolbert was charged with child abuse back in September when police say she went to another McDonald’s on east university avenue and attacked a girl in the parking lot.
“In the case where the child was involved, she was actually charged with child abuse for going to the place where this child worked and actually kind of called the child out and getting into a fist fight,” Rhodenizer said.
Deputies say they believe she's from Louisiana but up to now has been untraceable.
“Our warrants investigators have been actively searching for Shameka without success. Obviously this is someone who is prone to physical violence,” Rhodenizer said. “So based on the charges that have been filed we need to get her taken into custody.”
Tolbert is a 26-year-old black woman with brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 5’6 with a medium complexion.
If you have any information on where Tolbert may be, you can call Crime Stoppers at 352-372-STOP.
