Jaguars QB Blake Bortles hosts the Blake Bortles Foundation's third annual golf tournament
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles and the Blake Bortles Foundation hosted their third annual charity golf tournament.
The foundation was established in 2016 and raises money for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in addition to first responders.
“After my rookie year we sat down and talked about it. It was something that I wanted to do, my mom wanted to be a part of, so I thought it was something that we could do," Bortles said. "We had some things we wanted to help out as far as mentally disabled children and people, and first responders. It was easy for us to figure out who to give money to and it was kind of a challenge to figure out how to raise it.”
Bortles also talked about expectations heading into the 2018 NFL season.
“I think from what we did last year, I think kind of the expectations have changed a little bit. Within the locker room they were definitely different last year and I think they’re only gonna continue changing, growing, get higher. I’m looking forward to it. I think it’s gonna be a good challenge and it’ll be a good year.”
