No. T-6 Florida gymnastics faces No. T-6 Kentucky

Gators gymnastics

While Florida and Kentucky gymnastics have faced off 84 times in the past, this is the first time they both bring a top-10 ranking to the matchup. The Gators share the No. 6 spot with the Wildcats.

“We’re working more so on landings and showing off our dance more on floor," said senior gymnast Rachel Slocum. "Just little things that people might not be able to recognize but we know that they’re there.”

“After this last meet we made a lot of really good steps as far as working together as a team on the floor," head coach Jenny Rowland added. "It was good to see a lot of new faces on the floor. The freshmen have stepped into roles that they’ve really embraced and they’re doing a fantastic job with.”

Freshmen Alyssa Baumann, Jazmyn Foberg and Megan Scaggs have taken part in events this season.

Baumann, who was a U.S. Senior National Team member from 2014-17, has performed on balance beam (9.90) and floor exercise (9.875).

“I think it’s really exciting," said Baumann. "All the freshmen came in just ready to go. We wanted to compete. We wanted to be in lineups right away. We’re definitely trying to pace ourselves and peak at the right time, but it’s pushed the entire team I think that the freshmen have just been ready to go from the start.”

Foberg has taken part in every event with an all-around score of 39.125.

Scaggs has put up scores on vault (9.75), uneven bars (9.275) and floor exercise (9.925).
