Levy County Sheriff's deputies arrested an amateur MMA fighter accused of severely beating a man outside a bar earlier this month.

Deputies on Tuesday charged 27-year-old Hank Williams of Fanning Springs with felony battery after the May 5th incident at Bubba's Place on U.S. 19. Deputies say Williams, unprovoked, punched a man in the face twice while the man's hands were still in his pockets. They say the first strike knocked the man unconscious and he was falling when he was punched the second time. The man was taken by helicopter to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Deputies say Williams was taken into custody without incident today. He's being held on $100,000 bond.
