The High Springs Community School announced a new team member Tuesday night—Justice the chocolate lab mix rescue dog.
A private donor gave Justice to the school and the PTSA paid for his training as a firearm detection K-9.
This follows the school’s shooter scare last month that ended up being a false alarm.
Justice is the first firearm detection K-9 in the county to be dedicated to one school.
He will work with the school’s resource officer daily and serve as a therapy dog to students.
