Fund set up for two Trenton firefighters injured in crash
TRENTON, Fla. (WGFL) —
A fund has been set up to help two Trenton firefighters who are still in the hospital after they were injured in a crash while responding to an emergency call Friday.
Trenton Public Safety Chief Matthew Rexroat said Troy Breton and Ryan Cumbie are in critical but stable condition at UF Health.
"These guys were giving to their community when they got injured," Rexroat said. "Their families are going to be going through a tough time. They're going to be out of work for a while. We're just trying to make it a little easier on the families while they go through this tough time."
He said they have been overwhelmed by those who want to help but they wanted to first make sure donations are going to the right place. The department has set up an account with the Drummond Community Bank. The account is called "The Benefit Account Set Up for Troy Breton and Ray Cumbie.
The department is also releasing updated information on its Facebook page.
