Gainesville Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting at Tiger Bay Apartments Tuesday night.

Witnesses told police several men in a small vehicle entered the complex at 450 SE 24th Terrace around 8:15 p.m. Police say they fired multiple rounds from a handgun at a man who was outside of a car near the buildings.

Police say they found about five to six shell casings in the road but no bullet holes in the area. Police say they later found the vehicle in the northeast part of the city with four to five bullet holes and a small amount of blood in the vehicle. Police say they have no evidence anyone was hit and they're still trying to determine where the small amount of blood came from.

Investigators say they believe the shooting was a targeted attack and not random. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (352) 372-STOP.
