Gainesville Police are looking for a man who shot a resident while trying to force his way into an apartment this weekend.

Officers responded to Sundowne Villas at 3600 Windmeadows Blvd. around 2 a.m. Saturday and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officer Ben Tobias said they provided first aid to the victim until EMS arrived. He is expected to survive.
