The Gainesville Police Department says they are investigating a drive-by shooting involving four young adult victims.
A spokesperson for GPD tells CBS4 News that bullets hit several buildings, cars and people. Police say no one received life threatening injuries.
Gainesville police responded to a shots fired call around 1am Sunday morning in the area of SW 500 2nd Ave.
Police say two 20-year-old men and two 18-year-old women were shot.
"I live right there, my porch is right there, I kind of poked my head out," Santa Fe student Drew Burnstine said.
He lives nearby and said he heard gunshots.
"It must of been a dozen gun shots, 10 gun shots, something like that,"Burnstine said.
"Once they got on scene as you could imagine, it was pretty chaotic,"GPD spokesperson Lt. Lisa Scott said, "This may have occurred from a physical altercation in the parking garage and then as the victims were walking down the street the suspects then fired upon them from the vehicle."
Lt. Scott says three of the victims were found near the SW 500 2nd Ave area and one was found by the parking garage. She says the victims and suspects are not from Gainesville. Police believe the victims and suspects may know each other.
Burnstine says it could of been a close call.
"Some gunshots did go through the study room, the windows right in front of the seat I sit in," he said," It's a crazy world, anything could happen."
Police say they are still looking for the people responsible, but they do not have a description at this time.
Police say if you have tips to please come forward.
