HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. (WGFL) -- With flashing lights and sirens, High Springs Police were on a task Friday morning.
Their mission? Operation: “Holiday Cheer.”
A parade of police cars and a fire surprised the children around the community with a bag full of gifts.
“God's been good to us this year,” said one child.
High Springs Police have been hosting their operation holiday cheer for years.
This year, they selected 33 kids based on good grades, behavior, and need.
These gifts were donated from the police department and the community—tailored to many of the children’s passions like sports and drawing.
“Knowing that we can make a difference and make them smile that’s all I look for,” says organizer Ofc. Jason Taylor.
Even though it takes over a month a operation, they don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
