Man arrested in Alachua after firing gunshots at a party
Alachua police arrested 38 - year -old Ellis Lane after he threatened people with a gun at a party on Saturday.
Police say Lane fired gunshots after being told to leave a party in Northwest Alachua. Lane got into an argument with some people at the party and was asked to leave after threatening people with a gun and saying he would shoot them.
However, police say after he left he came back 10 minutes later in his car and fired shots into the air before leaving the scene again.
According to the arrest report the victims ran inside the house for safety and called 911 and were able to give a suspect and vehicle description.
When police apprehended Lane they found a firearm matching the victims description located in in his vehicle.
Lane is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $510,000 bond. He's facing multiple charges including three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
