Mother of Ocala hit and run victim pleads for help finding driver
A family is devastated after their daughter was struck and killed by a car while driving her moped Saturday evening. The driver fled the scene.
22 year-old Gypsie McEntire’s mother, Rachel Aldrich, is pleading with the community to help identify the person who struck her daughter and left her for dead.
“We heard that she was drug and we heard that she was knocked off,” Aldrich said. “But the scooter was lodged under this person’s car and drug 16 hundred feet down the street before he pulled it out from underneath his car.”
Troopers are searching for a silver Chrysler 300. They say the four-door vehicle will likely have significant front-end damage, including a missing front chrome grill and missing fog lamps.
“He needs to be found,” Aldrich said. “He needs to be accountable for what he’s done to my children. To my baby. He needs to be held accountable for this.”
McEntire’s family is asking for witnesses to come forward and for the public to be on the lookout for this vehicle.
“Just anything helps to get this guy in jail,” Aldrich said. “Anything helps so my daughter can rest in peace.”
