One man killed, another injured in single-car crash near Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) —
One man died and another was critically injured after a car ran off the road and struck a utility pole.
The wreck happened about 1:55 a.m. on State Road 26 near County Road 234, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was eastbound when it ran off the shoulder. Both passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
Troopers say 38-year-old Cipriano Lozano Gonzalez of Keystone Heights died at UF Health. The second passenger, Christian Lozano Gonzalez, was taken to UF Health in critical condition.
The 26-year-old driver of the car was treated for minor injuries.
