Police say a Gainesville woman attacked officers, scratched herself with a crack pipe and pulled down her own pants after she was caught shoplifting from Walmart Saturday.

Gainesville Police charged 36-year-old Cindy Dosette with aggravated assault on an officer, battery of an officer, indecent exposure, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. at the 12th Avenue Walmart.

An arrest report says security attempted to stop Dosette as she attempted to walk out of the store with two BB gun rifles, a pair of shorts, a sports bra and a pair of shoes worth more than $168.

Here's what happened next, according to the report:

Officers sat her on the ground but she grabbed one of their arms to pull herself back up. Police say she cursed at them as they tried to cuff her. They say she then began to cut her face and neck with her "crack stem."

Police say they sat her on the ground again when she screamed and yelled and rolled over so she could pull her pants down and expose herself to a crowd of people who were watching.

Police say she tried to bite them when they tried to keep her from banging her own head against the ground.

She was later taken to UF Health for self-harm and drug use. Dosette is now being held at the Alachua County Jail on $73,000 bond.
