UF Jewish Center hosting what's billed as the largest Passover Seder in North America
The Lubavitch- Chabad Jewish student center is getting ready for what's billed as the largest Passover celebration in North America
"In a sense it's like the birthday of the Jewish nation,” Program Director Aaron Notik said.
With UF having one of the largest Jewish student populations- the center is expecting 500 students and Alachua county residents to celebrate Passover in just the first night.
“We are here providing that home atmosphere for every single Jewish student and community member in Gainesville and Alachua county,” Notik said.
Students and volunteers are making Kosher meals, and will relive historical events by eating homemade Matzah and drinking of the four cups.
"The Passover Seder is an annual event but every single time it has a new excitement…we'll see new faces we'll relive a new experience,” Notik said.
The Seder is March 30th at 7:45 PM and March 31st at 8:45 PM
