Video shows Ocala Police, West Port High parents jumping gate after false gun call
OCALA, Fla. (WGFL) —
Ocala Police are investigating why a West Port High School student reported seeing someone with a gun on campus today, just hours after a shooting at another Marion County High School.
Police say the 911 call turned out to be false and the student was removed from class. They say they're investigating it as a possible false report.
Even though it turned out to be nothing, emotions were running high. The call came just as law enforcement officers were investigating a shooting that left one Forest High School student injured. Police raced from that scene to West Port High.
A social media video shows the panicked reaction of parents outside the school as officers jumped the fence to get inside. Some parents followed.
