Wanted Wednesdays: Lake City man on the run
Columbia County Sheriff's deputies need your help finding a man who has been arrested 12 times since 2009.
Officer Murray Smith says 31-year-old Samuel Kenneth Rice Jr. of Lake City is wanted on two Columbia County Warrant
"He’s a danger to our community because he tends to drive without a drivers license, when he does get pulled over he runs from the cops so it puts everyone in danger and sometimes he’s on drugs, which makes it very very serious,” Smith says.
Along with running from officers, police say Rice owes thousands of dollars in child support and failed to show up to court.
Smith says judges have given him multiple chances to complete his probation and perform community service but he hasn’t done it.
"We all have to work we have to feed our families you know he’s got a child obviously…he just didn’t chose to do that. it makes it harder to do those things when you’re on the run," Smith Says
Rice’s probation officer says he last saw him in May but deputies believe he is in the Lake City area because his family and friends live there.
"We want to make sure we get him off the streets and get him some help," Smith says.
Rice is 5'5 and 130 pounds. If you have any information call Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at 386-754-7099.
