Wanted Wednesday: Repeated felon wanted for battery and firing his gun
On this week's Wanted Wednesday, we have a man who is no stranger to law enforcement and deputies say he is a danger to the community.
33-year-old Brandon Eugene Green has a trail of felonies leading back to 2002—including sexual battery, burglary and drug possession.
Today, he is back out on the streets and wanted for a new list of felonies.
“Last week deputies responded to an apartment in southwest Gainesville after a male subject, later identified as our defendant, Brandon Green, followed another man into an apartment,” said Sgt. Brett Rhodenizer of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. “Once he was inside that apartment a physical fight ensued.”
Authorities say as punches were thrown, a gun fell out of green’s clothing.
The men struggled on the ground to get ahold of that firearm. Green was able to grab it.
“He ultimately recovered that gun, went outside and fired several shots into the air,” Rhodenizer said. “He’s currently wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony battery having committed battery more than one time, and discharge of a firearm in public, there in the neighborhood.”
He’s described as a black male with a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’10 and 170 pounds.
“This is a dangerous series of events, which makes him a dangerous individual, so we’re asking the public for any tips to get him located,” Rhodenizer said.
