Woman dies in head-on collision crash near Williston
WILLISTON, Fla. (WGFL) —
A Tennessee woman died Thursday after her pickup truck crashed into a jack-knifed trailer that crossed into her lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 1:50 p.m. on State Road 121 at NE 7th Place near Williston.
Troopers say a 53-year-old man from Lecanto was driving a semi south on State Road 121 when, for unknown reasons, he braked abruptly. Troopers say that caused the semi and its trailer to jack-knife, sending both into the northbound lane and in the path of a 2001 Ford F-150.
The vehicles crashed head-on. Troopers say the driver of the pickup, a woman from Tennessee, died at the scene. Her name has not been released.
The crash is under investigation.
