Woman in critical condition after Alachua County mobile home fire
Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a mobile home fire near Archer and Newberry on Sunday.
Firefighters say the family that lives in the home evacuated, but one woman went back into the house.
Assistant fire chief Larry Stewart said it took a team effort to get the woman to safety.
"Initially there were folks that had driven by that stopped to help, its also my understanding that the family helped to assist and get her out," Fire chief Stewart said. "Then the Alachua County sheriff deputies that arrived first on scene assisted in removing the lady from imminent danger."
The woman was severely burned and has life threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
