Police say a man has died after being hit by two cars in Prince George's County Thursday night.

Officers responded to the report of a pedestrian collision around 7:30 p.m. at the intersections of Metzerott Road and New Hampshire Avenue.

When police arrived, they say they found an unresponsive 40-year-old Serge Deumeni of Bowie. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe that after the man was hit by the first driver, a second driver struck him.

Police say the second driver may not have realized they hit the man, as he was already on the ground from the first collision.

The second car is described as a small sedan of unknown color.

Police say the first driver remained on scene.
