HAWTHORNE, Fla. (WGFL) -- The Florida Highway Patrol on Tuesday identified a man and woman who died, and a 10-year-old boy who was injured, in a crash near Hawthorne Tuesday night.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 1474 and County Road 219A.
Troopers say 39-year-old Marisol Garcia of Clearwater was driving a 1993 Chevy Prizm east on CR 1474 when it failed to stop at the stop sign.
Troopers say the Prizm was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was heading south on 219A.
The Prizm came to rest in the intersection and caught fire.
Troopers say Garcia and a passenger, 40-year-old Robin Rivera of Clearwater, both died at the scene.
Authorities say a second passenger, 10-year-old Derek Garcia, was rushed to UF Health in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck, 36-year-old Christopher Fagan of Belleview, had minor injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.
The investigation is ongoing.
