Wanted Wednesday: Gainesville man accused of beating mother of his children
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office is looking for man who they say punched, and tried to strangle the mother of his two children.
Now, authorities are asking for your tips to get him off the streets.
Jake Comic Young III, 27, is on the run. Two weeks ago, authorities say Young argued with the victim at her home in Newberry.
So the victim walked over to her neighbors home, but Young, was closely following behind.
“He came in without the owners permission, and continued to argue with the mother of his children— ultimately striking her in the mouth with a fist,” says Sgt. Brett Rhodenizer, spokesman for the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. “As the argument continued, he put his hands around her neck and obstructed her airway, and then became involved in an additional argument with the resident there.”
When deputies arrived, Young was gone.
“Mr. Young does have a local criminal history that does include narcotics offences,” says Sgt. Rhodenizer. “Obviously, this is someone who is willing to resort to violence and is willing to go into someone else’s home to continue those acts of violence.”
Authorities are now asking for any tips on young’s location, before he could do something like this again
“These acts of domestic violence or intimate partner violence are those that we take very seriously, and they are one of the only preventable homicides,” says Sgt. Rhodenizer.
This is his description:
