Wanted Wednesday: Man convicted of domestic violence on the run since 2015
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man whose been on the run since 2015, and with his violent history, deputies want your tips to help find him.
Jarrett Findley, 28, is on the run after he was charged with domestic battery by strangulation.
“So obviously by the nature of these charges, this is a violent individual who has chosen not to follow the orders of the court,” says Sgt. Brett Rhodenizer, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Officials say Findley attacked his girlfriend during an argument.
“There was a verbal fight, it got physical and that’s when he choked her and she almost lost consciousness as a result,” says Sht. Rhodenizer.
Sgt. Brett Rhodenizer says Findley was convicted but is now wanted for violating his probation.
“When we see these types of cases particularly domestic violence by strangulation, understand that’s an enhanced penalty,” says Sgt. Rhodenizer. “Domestic violence is one of the most dangerous calls we go to, and ultimately, they are one of the only ones we can prevent by finding the primary aggressor and putting them in jail before it becomes fatal.”
