Brady Singer and Casey Mize face off in one of college baseball's best pitching matchups

Gator baseball hosts Auburn this weekend in the Gainesville Super Regional. Saturday's noon matchup features two of the best pitchers in college baseball: Brady Singer and Casey Mize.

Florida's Singer has an 11-1 record this season with an ERA of 2.27. He's allowed just 24 earned runs on 64 hits, and has 98 strikeouts on the season. Singer was named the Baseball America Player of the Year, a Dick Howser Trophy finalist and a Golden Spikes Award finalist.

Mize, Auburn's right-handed star, is also a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB June Amateur Draft. During the 2018 season he's posted a 10-5 record and a 2.95 ERA. His 151 strikeouts lead the SEC and rank second in the country.

Game two is a noon start, and if a Monday game is required, it's slated to begin at 8:30 p.m.
